Some Lesser Known Facts

Andile Simelane's cricket journey began in his youth, introduced by a friend at Mpumelelo Primary School.
Initially hesitant to play cricket, he joined for the free food offered by KFC mini-cricket.
Despite being rejected for the KwaZulu-Natal Under-11 team trials, he succeeded in making it to the Under-13 team.
He attended Maritzburg College on a scholarship where notable cricketers Jonty Rhodes and David Miller also studied.
He debuted in List-A cricket for KwaZulu-Natal on 26 January 2020.
Simelane's first-class debut was with the Dolphins on 19 February 2023.
In 2023, he was recruited by Sunrisers Eastern Cape as a rookie for the 2024 SA20 season, where they later won the championship.
