Anang Desai is an Indian theatre artist and film & television actor, known for his work in Gujarati and Hindi films and TV serials.
Since childhood, he had a passion for acting and singing, performing in various school and college theatre plays.
Born into a family of doctors, Anang Desai pursued his interest in acting by completing courses at the National School of Drama in New Delhi and the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, Maharashtra.
After working at NSD as the institute’s professional repertory for over five years, he ventured into acting in Hindi and Gujarati theatre plays, including popular ones like Mukhya Mantri and Begum ka Takiya.
Despite Gujarati as his mother tongue, Anang struggled with Hindi initially but improved his language skills by reading books, magazines, and newspapers in Hindi.
Apart from acting, Anang Desai is also a trained singer in Hindustani classical music and has performed as a singer on All India Radio, Ahmedabad.
His acting career includes roles in notable Hindi films such as 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Ishq Vishk', and 'Rustom', as well as Gujarati films like 'Jaysuk Zdpayo' and 'Tu Rajee Re'.
