Amit Panghal was raised in a financially struggling family in Mayna village, Rohtak.
His brother, Ajay Panghal, inspired him to take up boxing as a profession.
Due to financial constraints, only one child could be trained in boxing, so his brother sacrificed his own career for Amit.
In 2017, he kicked off his boxing journey by clinching a gold medal at the National Boxing Championships.
Secured a bronze at the Asian Boxing Championships in Tashkent during the same year.
Made history as the first Indian male boxer to earn a silver medal in the World Boxing Championships in 2019.
