Achinta Sheuli set a record by lifting 313 kg at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
His interest in weightlifting sparked at a local gym where he observed his brother and other weightlifters.
When his father passed away, his brother sacrificed his college education so Achinta could pursue weightlifting.
Initially, he managed with little income before receiving a stipend at the Khelo India camp.
He dedicated his gold medal at CWG 2022 to his coach and brother.
Following his victory at CWG, he received congratulations from PM Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.
