Kavita's father has been the CM of Telangana since June 2, 2014, known as KCR.
She moved to the USA in 2003 after getting married and worked as a software engineer.
Upon returning to India in 2006, she joined the Telangana movement to help the people of Telangana.
In August 2006, she founded the Telangana Jagruthi party to advocate for culture and unity in Telangana.
She is fondly called Kavithamma by the people of Telangana due to her active participation in the state's protests.
Kavita is the honorary President of TRVKS and TAWHA and holds positions in various organizations.
In April 2022, she criticized the Union government for not buying paddy from Telangana farmers.
She attended the 7th ATA Convention and Youth Conference in Washington DC in July 2022.
In August 2022, she took legal action against BJP leaders for defamation in a liquor policy case.
She addressed a letter to the CJI regarding the release of convicts in the Bilkis Bano case in August 2022.
