Jyothi Surekha Vennam, an Indian compound archer, has won multiple gold medals at prestigious events like the Archery World Cup, World Archery Championships, and Asian Games.
In 2023, she made history as the first Indian archer to clinch a gold medal at the World Archery Championships.
During the same year, she secured numerous gold medals at the Asian Games.
Currently, she holds the fourth position in the world rankings.
At the age of 3, she started swimming and in 2001, she set a record by swimming 5 km across Krishna River as the youngest swimmer.
In 2017, she received the prestigious Arjuna Award, making her the youngest recipient from South India.
In 2020, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy felicitated her.
At the 2021 World Archery Championships, she became the first Indian to achieve an impressive tally of medals – one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
