Junior Balaiah was an Indian actor renowned for his work in Tamil films.
He was popularly known as the son of actor T. S. Balaiah.
Throughout his 40-year career, he predominantly portrayed supporting characters.
Balaiah showcased his versatility by playing roles as a comedian and antagonist in several Tamil movies.
He passed away on 2 November 2023 from a heart attack at his home in Chennai.
Sadly, Balaiah's father passed away in 1972, just before his debut film was released.
Despite appearing in numerous films, he did not achieve the same level of success as his father.
He faced financial difficulties after taking multiple loans and eventually filed for bankruptcy.
Balaiah found solace in Christianity and founded a healing center named Healing Stripes Ministry.
Some of his well-known films include Karagattakaran (1989), Sundara Kandam (1992), and Nerkonda Parvai (2019).
In addition to his movie roles, Balaiah was seen in TV shows such as Vazhkai (2000-2001) and Chinna Papa Periya Papa (2014).
In 2014, he revealed plans to establish a film production company to support his son's acting aspirations.
