Some Lesser Known Facts

Ishan Pandita hails from Tral town in Kashmir, India but moved to Delhi post the 1990 Kashmiri Pandits Exodus. At the age of 3, his family relocated to the Philippines from India.
While in the Philippines, Pandita's preference was swimming over football; he did start playing football at the young age of 5.
Returning to Bengaluru from the Philippines in 2009, Pandita chose football over swimming due to the proximity of the pool.
He excelled in football, becoming the captain of the International School Bangalore football team.
In 2012, Pandita showcased his talent at the 'Airtel Rising Star,' catching the eye of Manchester United scouts.
Playing for Makati City FC in the Gothia Cup in 2013 led to an opportunity at Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna.
He briefly played for IF Brommapojkarna's Under-17 team but did not sign a contract with them.
Joining the Intersoccer Madrid football academy in Spain in 2014, he eventually secured a place at Alcobendas CF.
In 2016, Pandita joined the Under-19 team of Leganés, becoming the first Indian to play for a La Liga club's youth team.
He signed with Gimnàstic's Under-23 team in January 2019 before moving to FC Goa in the Indian Super League.
Debuting for FC Goa in November 2020, Pandita scored his first ISL goal against Hyderabad FC in December 2022.
He later joined Jamshedpur FC, helping them win the League Shield Trophy in the 2021-2022 season.
Pandita represented India in the 2022 VFF Tri-Nations Series, and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, where he was also part of the Intercontinental Cup-winning team.
In 2023, he signed with Kerala Blasters FC, declining offers from other clubs despite lucrative offers.
Known for his aggressive and physically imposing style, Pandita has been likened to Indian football legends like Bhaichung Bhutia and Sunil Chhetri.
