Gerald Coetzee, a South African cricketer, holds the record for most wickets by a South African bowler in a single ODI World Cup.
Known for his speed and energy on the field, Coetzee played rugby, tennis, and cricket with his brother in childhood.
Impressed by Dale Steyn, Coetzee started following him in his teens and decided to pursue a professional cricket career.
Coetzee received his first call-up to the South Africa Under-19 team at just 16 in 2017, going on to represent them in multiple World Cups.
Spotted by coaches in 2019, Coetzee signed for Jozi Stars in the Mzansi Super League and later joined Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
