Achala Sachdev was an Indian actress known for her work in Bollywood.
She was raised in Peshawar, North-West Frontier Province, British India (now in Pakistan) in a middle-class family.
Achala started her career as a child actress in a few films during her childhood.
She began as a radio jockey at All India Radio, Lahore, before joining All India Radio, Delhi.
Famous Bollywood films Achala appeared in include “Rahi” (1952), “Sampoorna Ramayana” (1961), and “Sangam” (1964).
Her role as Balraj Sahni’s wife in “Waqt” brought her fame, especially with the hit song 'Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen'.
