Eknath Shinde launched his political journey as a corporator in Thane Municipal Corporation back in 1997.
In 2022, he became the 20th Chief Minister of Maharashtra after breaking away from the MVA government.
Dr. Shrikant Shinde, his son, secured a seat as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Kalyan constituency in 2014.
In the year 2014, Eknath Shinde went back to his studies and completed a BA degree in Marathi and Politics.
Tragedy struck in 2000 when his 11-year-old son Dipesh and 7-year-old daughter Shubhada accidentally drowned.
