DP Manu is an Indian track and field athlete known for specializing in javelin throw.
In 2022, he achieved a personal best of 84.35 meters in javelin throw, winning the Inter-State Championships in Chennai and ranking as the fourth-best Indian javelin thrower.
His parents, who have a coffee farm in Karnataka, are farmers.
He emerged victorious at the Indian National Championships in June 2022 and secured fifth place at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Throughout 2022, he consistently threw javelins over 80 meters in five out of nine competitions.
During the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok in July 2023, he clinched a silver medal by throwing over 81 meters.
At the World Athletics Championships in Budapest in 2023, his impressive throw of 81.31 meters in the qualification round earned him a spot in the finals where he finished sixth with a throw of 84.14 meters.
