Initially, she played basketball and table tennis at the junior national level, then transitioned to cricket.
After impressing at a cricket camp by Lala Amarnath, she played for Railways and later the Indian national cricket team.
Diana is a former India captain who played from 1976 to 1993, featuring in 20 Tests and 34 ODIs.
During her international career, she lost four front teeth while playing for India.
Post-retirement, she served as a senior sports officer in Western Railway and held roles in BCCI's women's committee.
Diana was the Indian women's team manager in 2009 and was the first woman cricketer to receive the Arjuna award (1983) and Padma Shri (2002).
