Chhavi underwent administrative training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie from 29 August 2011 to 4 May 2012. |
During his tenure as an Assistant Collector and Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Dumka district, he worked in land revenue management and district administration. |
Chhavi also held positions such as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) in the Chakradharpur area and as Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Lohardaga District. |
He served as Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Koderma and Ranchi districts and as Municipal Commissioner (MC) in the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation. |
Chhavi worked in various departments including rural development, urban development, and food, public distribution & consumer affairs. |
He was also the Director of the Jharkhand agriculture department and later of the Social Welfare and Social Security departments. |
Chhavi faced personal struggles when his parents disowned him for marrying a woman from a different caste. |
He was placed in custody for six days following his arrest in May 2023 and was suspended by the Jharkhand state government. |
Chhavi's name was considered for the role of Election Officer in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly Elections but was later dropped due to his involvement in ongoing investigations. |
