Aanjjan Srivastav is a well-known actor in Bollywood.
Apart from Bollywood, he has experience in radio, theaters, and regional films.
Born in Calcutta (Kolkata), he grew up there, but his roots are in Uttar Pradesh.
Although his father worked at Allahabad Bank in Calcutta, he did not want Aanjjan to pursue a career in the film industry.
Aanjjan earned his B.Com. and LLB degrees from Calcutta University, but his father had him join Allahabad Bank as a clerk.
Simultaneously, he pursued his passion for acting by working at AIR, Calcutta, and being a part of 'Sangeet Kala Mandir' for a decade.
In 1976, after the passing of his sister, his father allowed him to venture to Mumbai to try his luck in Bollywood.
After struggling to find work in Mumbai, he waited six months to transfer his job from Allahabad Bank in Calcutta to Mumbai.
Aanjjan joined IPTA upon reaching Mumbai and eventually became its Vice-President.
He is married to Madhu Srivastav and has three children.
His Bollywood debut was in the movie 'Gol Maal' in 1979, and one of his notable TV roles was in 'Wagle Ki Duniya' in 1988.
In 1991, he appeared in the Hollywood film 'Mississippi Masala,' receiving acclaim for his performance.
'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' in 1994 is another notable movie in his career.
