In 2005, he was made District magistrate of Malkangiri district in Odisha. Later, he worked as a District Magistrate in various districts of Odisha. |
In 2012, he moved to Bihar for an inter-cadre deputation for five years. He was also appointed as the District Magistrate of Patna and Purnea districts in Bihar. |
After completing his deputation for five years, he was sent to Orissa by the Government of India in 2017; however, he refused to go and quit his job after taking a year. |
In 2018, he took a voluntary retirement (VRS) from the Indian Administrative Services. According to various reports, he was advised by Janata Dal (United) party leader Nitish Kumar. |
Later, he was appointed as a member of the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority. |
In 2022, he was assigned the post of additional advisor in the cabinet meeting. |
In 2024, he campaigned for the 2024 Indian General Elections for the Janata Dal (United) party in Bihar. |
