  • In 2023, Nagendra Babu faced backlash for his Twitter tweet in which he addressed the general public and talked about viewers who feel that people are negatively influenced by the violent sequences shown in films. In his tweet he said that people should stop assuming that films can alter the behaviour of an individual and that the films are just meant for entertainment and not for preaching values. He completed the post by saying that producers are only concerned with the good business done by a film. His tweet was supported by Ram Gopal Varma but many people went against it and tweeted against his point of view.
  • In 2024, Nagendra Babu tweeted about his disappointment about Allu Arjun for campaigning against the party supported by Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. Nagendra tweeted saying 'He who is with us but works for the opponents is a stranger even if he is ours, and he who stands with us is ours even if he is a stranger!' This tweet received mix reactions from the public and Allu Arjun also said that he has a good relationship with Shilpa Ravi Reddy's family which is why he had to support them.
  • In 2024, during the pre-release event for Nagendra Babu's son Varun's film 'Operation Valentine,' Nagendra made comments about the physical features of a police role in the film. He said that a hero who was 6 feet and 3 inches tall would be a better fit to play a police officer than someone who was smaller in stature. This comment of his made him face backlash majorly and was defamed for promoting body shaming and harmful stereotypes. He later tweeted a public apology for his comments.
