Vinod was born into a Krishna devotee family that moved from Delhi to Mumbai when he was 7 years old. |
From a young age, he had a spiritual inclination and enjoyed singing bhajans. By the age of 12, he had mastered playing the harmonium. |
He tied the knot with Kusum Lata at the young age of 20, and she supported him in his devotional endeavors throughout his life. |
In 1978, he began conducting bhajans called "Hari Naam Sankirtan" every Sunday morning at his brother's office. |
The following year, he received Diksha from his Spiritual Guru, Late Shri Mukund Hari Ji Maharaj of Bhatinda, Punjab, who he credited for his divine singing and melodies. |
Since 1993, he performed at devotional programs without accepting any payment, following his guru's instructions. |
In addition to his singing talents, he was skilled in writing in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. |
Over the years, he performed over 1500 live programs in India and various other countries. |
He also released more than 115 Audio Cassettes, CDs, and VCDs worldwide in his career. |
On November 6, 2018, he passed away in Mathura at around 4 am due to multiple organ failure. |
His final Sankirtan took place on October 21, 2018, at Vijay Market Barkheda, BHEL, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. |
