Vikramaditya Motwane is an Indian filmmaker known for directing successful films and web series.
His parents divorced when he was 10 years old; his father is Sindhi, and his mother is Bengali.
At the age of 10, his mother started working with Shukla Das, her cousin and a documentary filmmaker.
During his teenage years, he assisted his mother with research for a TV talk show she hosted.
He first met Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a future collaborator, while working on the talk show.
Vikram then worked with Bhansali as an assistant director for several years.
He assisted on films like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and "Devdas" while with Bhansali.
Additionally, Vikram worked as a choreographer for "Paanch", directed by Anurag Kashyap.
In 2005, he married Ishika Mohan, who also appeared in his film "Udaan".
"Udaan" faced challenges in finding a producer but was eventually made with Anurag Kashyap's support.
The film was a success and went on to be featured at the Cannes Film Festival.
Later, Vikram, Anurag Kashyap, and others co-founded Phantom Films.
Phantom Films produced popular movies like "Queen" and "Udta Punjab".
