In June 2023, he was arrested for aiding the associates of the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
- After completing his studies, he established connections with several local politicians in Ayodhya. He also ventured into the contract business.
- Allegedly, during the late 1990s and early 2000s, Vikas Singh was said to have had associations with the gang led by Shiv Prakash Shukla.
- During the 2000s and early 2010s, he had an association with Abhay Singh, a local leader and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Ayodhya; however, they eventually went separate ways due to disagreements, leading Vikas to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
- He later developed a close relationship with Indra Pratap Tiwari, also known as Khabbu Tiwari, who was a politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election, Vikas actively campaigned for Aarti Tiwari, the wife of Khabbu Tiwari; however, she could not win.
- During the campaigning for the 2022 UP Assembly elections, a violent altercation occurred between the followers of Abhay Singh and Vikas Singh. As a result, both individuals were arrested by the police and subsequently required to sign a bond amounting to Rs 5 lakhs each.
