Titas Sadhu is an Indian cricketer known for winning the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023 and receiving the Player of the Match award.
She was born in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, before moving to different places due to her father's job, ultimately settling in Chinsurah.
As a child, she used to visit the cricket club owned by her family to keep score during matches.
Titas started swimming and played table tennis before discovering her passion for cricket in school.
Her talent for cricket was first noticed by her father when she bowled during a rain-cancelled match at her club.
Although initially rejected from the West Bengal team trials at age 13, she later joined the team after impressing during subsequent matches.
Her childhood coach introduced her to the Bengal team's bowling coach, who further honed her skills.
Making her debut at 16 for the Bengal team, she struggled in initial matches but later excelled, becoming the team's highest wicket-taker in 2022.
Titas participated in the Women’s U19 T20 Quadrangular series before the 2023 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, where she performed exceptionally well.
In the World Cup final match, she took six wickets, earning the Player of the Match award and becoming the first Bengal cricketer to do so in an ICC World Cup final.
