Anjana hails from Bihari ethnicity.
Her father is from Arrah city, Bihar, and her mother is from Bihar Sharif.
Despite aspiring to be a doctor, she couldn't clear any Pre-Medical Admission Tests.
After post-graduation, she aimed for UPSC but fell short twice during the interview round.
She started her journalism career in 2003 with Doordarshan's program, Ankhon Dekhi.
Later, she moved to Zee News for a desk job after leaving Doordarshan.
From 2007, she spent about five years at Zee before shifting to News 24.
