Some Lesser Known Facts

Aniyan Midhun is a pioneering Indian Wushu player, the first South Indian to represent India in International Wushu, gaining recognition through Bigg Boss (Malayalam season 5) in 2023 on Asianet.
Born into a family of fishermen, his upbringing centered around fishing and farming rice and bananas, fostering his love for the sea, earning him the nickname "Son of the Arabian Sea."
A childhood interest in martial arts led him to start Karate coaching in class 5, progressing to kickboxing and ultimately Wushu by class 7, earning black belts in Karate and kickboxing.
To fund his training, he worked in farming and fishing, juggling studies and training, ultimately specializing in Wushu under coach Kuldeep Kumar Handoo in Kashmir, focusing on endurance and strength.
He broke barriers in his village by pursuing sports professionally, facing skepticism about Wushu's novelty, eventually becoming a national champion in kickboxing and a World Champion in Wushu Sanda in 2022.
Entering the world of reality TV through Bigg Boss in 2023, Midhun shared a poignant personal story during a task, touching on a romantic connection with a fallen female commando, emphasizing her sacrifice for the nation.
Balancing his training with work as a celebrity martial arts and fitness trainer, Midhun aims to establish a sports school in his village, already mentoring 70 students with 5 national-level medalists.
