Sunil Arora is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from Rajasthan Cadre in India.
He has two brothers: one is an IAS officer and the other is a diplomat in the Indian Foreign Service.
Prior to his IAS career, he was an associate professor at DAV College in Jalandhar.
He has served in various roles for the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan.
Sunil Arora retired from the Indian Administrative Services on 30 April 2016.
After retirement, he became the CEO and Director General of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.
On 31 August 2017, he was appointed as an Election Commissioner of India.
Later, on 26 November 2018, he became the Chief Election Commissioner of India.
