Shivendra Singh, a former Indian hockey player, played at the centre forward position and served as the assistant coach of the national men’s hockey team.
He began playing hockey by accompanying his elder brother to practice in the nearby stadium.
Shivendra received formal hockey training in Gwalior, participated in the Sub-junior national championship in 1998, and joined the Tata Power hockey team.
After clearing trials, he got admitted to the SAI's Uttar Pradesh branch in 1998 and later shifted to the Mumbai branch in 1999.
In 2002, Shivendra joined the Western Railways hockey team, trained under Gurbux Singh, and participated in various tournaments.
He was part of the training camp for the Poznan Junior Challenge Cup in 2003 but was not selected for the team.
Shivendra won the ‘Best Player’ at the Bombay Gold Cup in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
In 2005, he played for the team 'Maratha Warriors' in the Premier Hockey League and won a bronze medal.
His career turned after participating in the 2006 Premier Hockey League in Chandigarh, leading to selection in the national team.
Shivendra directly entered the senior national squad without playing in age-group categories.
He won a gold medal with the Indian hockey team at the 2007 Hockey Asia Cup in Chennai.
Shivendra secured a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup the same year.
