Shinsuke Nakamura was dubbed the 'Super Rookie' shortly after his start at New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2002 due to his impressive strength, agility, and technical skills.
In 2006, Nakamura was close to joining WWE, but a lucrative offer from NJPW due to Brock Lesnar's departure in 2006 made him stay and he eventually signed with WWE in 2016.
Similar to The Undertaker, Nakamura's career took off around 2010, earning him the 'Wrestler of the Year' title in 2014 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Nakamura and Brock Lesnar are close friends and even trained together at Lesnar's gym during Lesnar's time in Japan.
His finishing move was changed from 'Bomaye' in NJPW to 'Kinshasa' in WWE, despite being the same move in both promotions.
Nakamura holds the record for the most IWGP Intercontinental title reigns at NJPW, with five title victories to his name.
