  • In his maiden Ranji Trophy match, Sanjay Yadav achieved the third-best bowling figures (22-7-52-9) by an Indian bowler in first-class cricket. These figures were also the 7th best for any player in the world on his first-class debut.
  • Sanjay claimed 55 wickets and scored 603 runs in 9 matches that he played in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season. These are the second-best all-round figures by any player in the history of Ranji Trophy.

Some Lesser Known Facts

Sanjay Yadav was born in Gorakhpur and grew up in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
He plays domestic cricket for Meghalaya and previously played tennis ball and local cricket in Chennai.
His coach, M. Premnath, from Future India Cricket Academy, discovered him during a school match in Hosur.
Despite joining the academy, Sanjay had to leave due to financial constraints.
Sanjay's brother, Sonu Yadav, is also a cricketer who has represented Tamil Nadu.
Sanjay made his debut for Tamil Nadu against Kerala in the South Zone Inter-State T20 Tournament on February 3, 2017.
He signed a Rs 10 lakh contract with Kolkata Knight Riders before IPL 2017 because of his exceptional cricket skills.
In the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season, he had remarkable stats with 55 wickets and 603 runs, ranking second in the tournament's history.
During a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Mumbai, Sanjay played a pivotal role by contributing 55 runs and restricting the opposition to 158.
