Anam was born into a sports enthusiast Muslim family in Old Hyderabad.
As a teenager, she developed a strong interest in journalism.
This interest led her to pursue a career in journalism.
Anam's active involvement in shooting secured her admission to St Francis for a bachelor's degree through the sports quota in 2012.
She began her journalism career as an intern with media organizations such as India Today and NDTV.
