Salman belongs to a humble family in Haryana engaged in singing at weddings.
His passion for music began early, performing at events from the age of 7 to support his family.
In 2011, he competed on Zee TV's 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs' as the runner-up mentored by Kailash Kher.
Due to financial struggles, his family couldn't afford to send him to the auditions for 'Indian Idol 10,' but his friend Manohar Sharma helped him financially.
He emerged victorious on 'Indian Idol 10' on 23 December 2018, winning the trophy, ₹25 lakh, and a Datsun car.
Salman's singing debut was with the Bollywood song "Sab Badhiya Hai" alongside Sukhwinder Singh for the film 'Sui Dhaaga' in 2018.
