Amoj Jacob is an Indian track and field athlete known for competing in 400m, 800m, and relay events.
He secured his spot in the relay team for the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, England.
Initially interested in football, Amoj was encouraged to pursue sprinting by his school's physical trainer, Arvind Kapoor.
Although starting as a 100m sprinter, he transitioned to focus on 400m and 800m races under Kapoor's guidance.
In 2016, he won the boy’s 800m event at the 4th Junior Federation Cup National Athletics Championship in Bengaluru.
Amoj competed at the Asian Junior Championship in men’s 800m and 4x400m relay events in 2016.
He also competed in the 4x400m men’s relay at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2017.
During the Commonwealth Games 2018, Amoj encountered an incident collapsing on the track during the men’s 4x400m relay finals.
He participated in the men’s 4x400m relay at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 but did not advance to the finals.
Amoj joined the men’s 400m category at the 21st Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championship in March 2021.
