Amitabh Bhattacharya is an Indian lyricist, playback singer, and film producer.
He gained recognition by writing the lyrics for ‘Emotional Atyachar’ in the Bollywood film “Dev.D”.
Born in a middle-class Bengali family in Malad, Mumbai, he grew up in Lucknow.
Having a passion for music from a young age, he aspired to become a singer.
During his college years, he sang for orchestras.
In 1999, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career as a playback singer.
Initially facing rejection, he later assisted music composer Pritam Chakraborty for about two years.
During his struggling days, he wrote jingles for advertisements and learned songwriting.
Introduced to composer Amit Trivedi in 2014, he began writing and singing for his music.
His debut as a lyricist and singer was with the songs 'Ek Lau' and 'Ha Raham' from the film 'Aamir' in 2008.
He is known for hits like 'Emotional Atyachaar', 'Chikani Chameli', 'Kabira', 'Gerua', 'Channa Mereya', and 'Haanikaarak Bapu'.
