Rajesh Bindal is an Indian judge who became a Supreme Court judge on 10 February 2023.
He has held positions such as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, and acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
Starting from 14 September 1985, he served at the High Court of Punjab and Haryana.
In 1992, he became a part of the Central Administrative Tribunal.
From 1992 to 2006, he represented Chandigarh Administration and regions of Punjab and Haryana before legal bodies.
His specialization lies in taxation matters.
During his tenure at the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, he was involved in the Satluj Yamuna Water dispute between Haryana and Punjab.
He became a permanent judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 22 March 2006.
In 2006, his judgment on the Punjab SC and BC (Reservation in Services) Act was praised.
In 2017, he contributed to a significant ruling on a petition challenging Bar Council of India rules.
He submitted a report on the International Child Abduction Bill in April 2018.
Before moving to Jammu and Kashmir High Court, he handled around 80,000 cases and served on various committees.
He was recommended to move to the Madras High Court on 26 October 2018.
He officially joined the Jammu and Kashmir High Court as a judge on 19 November 2018.
