Priyamani was born in Bengaluru to a modest family.
She is the granddaughter of the renowned Carnatic Vocalist, Kamala Kailas.
Priya spent her childhood playing Cricket and Hide & Seek with boys due to the lack of girls her age in her society.

Initially, modeling was a means for her to earn pocket money, with no intent of becoming an actress.
