Prisha Lokesh Nikajoo is an Indian toddler who set a record as the youngest mountaineer to climb Mount Everest's 17.6k ft base camp at the age of 5 on June 20, 2023.
Her grandparents are from Prabhat Pattan, Betul district in Madhya Pradesh. Her father, an IT Engineer, moved to Mumbai with his family.
Prisha began trekking at two years old due to her father's influence. They trek every weekend, and her father guides her using his training from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports.
She has explored various locations and climbed mountains like Kalsubai Shikhar at the age of three.
At 3 years, 11 months, and 22 days old, Prisha set a record by reaching Kalsubai's peak in Maharashtra in just 3 hours and 16 minutes on October 31, 2021.
On June 20, 2023, she became the youngest mountaineer to reach the base camp of Mount Everest, completing the trek in 12 days.
Prisha started the Everest trek with her father from Lukla, Nepal on May 24, reached the base camp on June 1, 2023, holding the Indian Flag, and returned to Lukla on June 4, 2023.
