His mother worked at ‘All India Radio’ for over thirty years before becoming a Political Sciences lecturer.
Joshi became an author at 17 with his book ‘Main Aur Woh,’ having started writing in his youth.
Starting at Ogilvy & Mather in Delhi, he spent a decade there and rose to the position of executive director of the Mumbai office.
In 2002, he joined McCann-Erickson as an executive vice president, later becoming the regional creative director for South and South East Asia in 2006.
The idea for his award-winning TV ad ‘Thanda Matlab Coca Cola’ came from observing a porter at Hapur Railway Station.
He was named the ‘Young Global Leader 2006’ by the Forum of Young Global Leaders, affiliated with the World Economic Forum.
His dialogue writing debut was with the Indian film 'Rang De Basanti' directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in 2006.
His commercial for Happydent White chewing gum was voted one of the 20 best ads of the 21st century by a global advertising industry journal.
