Parneet Kaur, an Indian archer, clinched a gold medal in the women’s team compound archery event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2023.
Her father encouraged her to pursue sports, giving her the choice between fencing and archery.
Introduced to archery by her father in 2015, Parneet's success can be linked to him moving the family to Patiala for better sports facilities.
Taking to professional training in 2017 under coach Surinder Singh Randhawa at Punjabi University in Patiala, she secured a silver medal in archery at the National Inter-school tournament in 2019.
Competing in various competitions, Parneet won accolades such as defeating Vietnam’s Chau Kieu Oanh at the Asian Archery Championships in 2021 and securing bronze at the Archery Asia Cup in 2022.
