Mukunda Goswami is an American spiritual leader of ISKCON in England.
Before spiritual leadership, he pursued a career in music after moving to New York from Portland.
In 1966, he became one of the first initiated disciples of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Mukunda, along with his ex-wife and friends, helped establish the first Hare Krishna temple in San Francisco in 1966.
He founded the first Hare Krishna temple in San Francisco in 1967 and organized the Mantra-Rock Dance event.
In 1968, he went to London to establish ISKCON in England under the guidance of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
In 1971, he wrote musical arrangements for ‘The Radha Krsna Temple’ album produced by George Harrison.
The song ‘Hare Krishna Mantra’ from the album made it to the UK Singles Chart.
In 1982, he took Sannyasa from Jayapataka Swami.
From 1984 to 1999, Mukunda served as the ISKCON Minister of Communication.
He later moved from San Diego to New Zealand and then to Australia.
In 2015, he suffered a heart attack after a fall and hip surgery.
