Mohan Agashe is a renowned Indian actor and psychiatrist with a strong presence in the Indian film industry.
He was honored with the Padma Shri award in 1990 and received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1996.
Agashe began his career as a child artist in the theatre group 'Children's theatre.'
His notable works in Marathi cinema include films like Samna (1975), Jait Re Jait (1977), Ek Hota Vidushak (1992), Astu: So Be It (2015), Kaasav (2017), and Chandramukhi (2022).
In 1980, he ventured into Bollywood with the film Aakrosh.
During the 1980s, he gained popularity for portraying Nana Phadnavis in the play Ghashiram Kotwal.
He co-established the Theatre Academy in Pune in 1980.
In 1991, Agashe founded the Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health (MIMH) in Pune.
