Misbah is a philanthropist who raised funds for a fan's heart treatment through auctioning his cricket gear.
He made his first-class debut in 1998 at the age of 24 and gained T20 World Cup success after 6 years.
As a captain, he achieved a historic 3-0 Test series whitewash against England in the UAE in 2011/12.
Misbah became the first South Asian captain to defeat South Africa in their home territory.
He is the second Pakistani captain to win the Asia Cup, which he did in 2012.
Between 2010-2015, Misbah scored more Test runs as captain than Imran Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Javed Miandad.
