Misa's name was inspired by the MISA law during the emergency in 1971 under Indira Gandhi's government.
In 1993, Misa did not pass the MBBS entrance exam at MGM Medical College but got a seat through the TISCO quota.
Local politicians allegedly misused the TISCO quota for admissions at MGM Medical College until the Jharkhand High Court intervened in 2002.
Misa started MBBS at MGM Medical College, then moved to Patna Medical College for security reasons.
