In high school, Mike excelled in sports as a power forward on the basketball team.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, with distinction in Mechanical Engineering.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1991 as an Armor Branch Cavalry Officer, Mike was promoted to the rank of Captain.
