Mayilsamy, an Indian actor, theatre artist, host, and television presenter, is recognized for his comedic roles in Tamil films.
He was known for his excellent chemistry with the late comedian Vivek in the Tamil film industry.
Starting his journey in theatrical productions as a child in Tamil Nadu, he later relocated to Chennai to pursue an acting career.
Debuting in "Dhavani Kanavugal" (1984), he appeared in a range of Tamil films, including popular ones like "Dhill" (2001) and "Kanchana" (2011).
His breakthrough role was in the Tamil film "Dhool" (2003) where he portrayed Kunchacko.
Over nearly four decades, he has amassed over 200 film credits.
Besides acting, he worked as a dubbing artist in films like "Selva" (1996) and "New" (2004).
Mayilsamy admired M. G. Ramachandran and shared his philanthropic spirit by helping the less fortunate.
He ran as an independent candidate in the 2021 Virugambakkam constituency assembly elections but was unsuccessful.
