Manish Kumar is an IPS officer in the Maharashtra cadre of the 2021 batch. He gained recognition for marrying Ria Dabi, the sister of IAS officer Tina Dabi.
He completed his graduation in 2016 and started preparing for the civil services exam. He cleared the UPSC 2020 exam with a rank of 581.
In the civil services exam, he scored a total of 910 marks, with 739 marks in the written exam and 171 marks in the interview.
Initially, there was confusion in the news regarding his identity after the UPSC 2020 exam results were announced. Newspapers first reported a candidate named Manish from Bihar, later corrected to be him, Manish Kumar from Delhi.
During his training at LBSNAA in Mussoorie, he met Ria Dabi. Their friendship developed into a romantic relationship.
After dating for some months, Manish and Ria got married in 2023 through a court marriage.
