Lockie Ferguson's cricket journey began in his backyard with his brother before he trained at the Parnell Cricket Club in Auckland.
He changed his name to Lockie from Lauchlan during his teenage years due to his preference for the unique spelling.
In 2008, he clinched the National Schools Fast Bowling Competition title during his school days.
Facing multiple injuries early in his career, Ferguson trained with renowned coaches Simon Doull and Didier Poppe to enhance his chest and shoulder strength.
