Laxmi is the first woman police commissioner of Uttar Pradesh since her appointment on 28 November 2022.
She achieved the second rank in the Uttar Pradesh class tenth board exam due to her strong academic aptitude.
In the year 2000, after passing the civil services exam, she became an IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
During her IPS training in Hyderabad, Laxmi was recognized as the best probationer.
Laxmi has served as SP/SSP in various cities within Uttar Pradesh, including Banaras, Chitrakoot, and Gonda.
Her speed, accuracy, and efficiency led to the resolution of 4,500 pending cases in just three weeks.
Contributing significantly to women's safety, Laxmi actively handles cases of crime against women.
She addressed public grievances and improved police personnel concerns in Uttar Pradesh.
Laxmi held the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Special Task Force where she swiftly took action against criminals.
She maintained strict control over criminal gangs while serving as the Deputy Inspector General of PAC in Meerut in 2014.
Laxmi has also served in posts like DG and ADG within the Uttar Pradesh Police force.
In 2017, she led the investigation of the Unnao case involving poisoning incidents.
Her contributions led to a promotion to Inspector General of Police and appointment as the nodal officer of Mission Shakti in 2019.
In 2020, she was appointed to investigate the Kanpur encounter case involving the loss of eight policemen's lives.
Recently, on 28 November 2022, Laxmi was appointed as the Police Commissioner of Gautam Budh Nagar, being the first woman to hold this position in Uttar Pradesh.
