Laura Harris is an Australian cricketer selected by the Delhi Capitals for the 2023 Women’s Premier League. She has played for Queensland Fire in the WNCL and Brisbane Heat in the WBBL.
As a child, Laura played rugby, soccer, and cricket, often pretending to be Darren Lockyer while playing with her siblings.
Laura initially pursued a career in nursing despite playing cricket for clubs and schools and also for the University of Queensland Cricket Club.
She worked as a registered nurse at QE2 Hospital and Queensland Health before starting at Logan Hospital in 2018. It was during her time at Logan Hospital that she decided to pursue a professional sporting career.
Laura made her domestic debut in the 2016-2017 WNCL season for Queensland Fire.
In 2016, Laura collided with Deandra Dottin during a Women’s Big Bash League match but continued playing after receiving medical treatment.
She joined Brisbane Heat and played in the 2018–19 and 2019–20 WBBL seasons.
In 2019, Laura proposed to her Brisbane Heat teammate Delissa Kimmince, and they got married in 2020 after dating for four years.
She played for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2021 season and scored 61 runs in six matches.
Laura scored 101 runs off 54 balls in the WNCL, setting a record for the fastest century by a female player.
She joined Wellington Blaze for the 2022–23 Dream11 Super Smash in January 2023.
During a Women’s Super Smash match in 2023, Laura slipped three times returning to the crease after being told not to run by her partner, creating a humorous moment.
