He began his career as a mimicry artist at Cochin Kalabhavan in India alongside Siddique.
Lal and Siddique joined forces to create the renowned filmmaking team 'Siddique-Lal', specializing in comedy movies.
His acting debut was a cameo in the Malayalam film 'Manathe Kottaram' (1994).
Returning as a director in 2009, he directed '2 Harihar Nagar' in Malayalam.
